2023 Term 3 Week 2
From the Principal - Term 3, Week 2
Welcome to Term 3.
I hope your children are well rested and enjoyed the school holiday break. This term we have a number of exciting events taking place, so please keep an eye on the school calendar and your email for more details as some events will require parental consent.
In order for our excursions and extra-circular events to go ahead, we will require parental support. Any event outside of the school requires a 1:10 ratio and at least one male adult. If we are unable to meet this ratio, we unfortunately will not be able to take the children out of the school. We truly appreciate the support we receive.
Family Learning Conversations
Family Learning Conversations were held last night and are scheduled again for tomorrow night. These meetings are an important opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school and to develop goals for each student for Semester Two. If you are unable to make the meetings, please contact your child’s teacher to make an alternative time.
Staffing Updates
This week we welcomed Mrs Carly Mathews onto the Trinity staff. Mrs Mathews will teach year 5A on a Monday and Friday for Semester Two to enable Mr Watty to come out of the classroom in a Student Support role. I know that she will be warmly welcomed into the school community.
Next week we welcome back Mrs Cahill, Mrs McMahon and Mrs Gill from their long service leave. Thank you to the staff who have taken on extra days during this time to ensure consistency for the students.
Later this term we have Mrs Parker, Mrs Burke and Miss Scarton all taking two weeks leave. During this time Mr Dannaoui will cover the Year 6 classes and arrangements are currently in place to cover his ICT classes. Mrs Albert will also be on leave later this term and will be covered by staff that she currently shares a class with. Again, I thank the wonderful staff here at Trinity for their willingness to step up, adapt their roles and put the students first to ensure the classes are covered by familiar people when possible.
School Fee Statements
This week School Fee Statements will be sent home to families. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact the school office.
2024 Enrolments and Families Leaving the School

Updating Personal Details
Have your details changed? If any of the details below have changed, can you please update these details by emailing the school at info@trinitynarre.catholic.edu.au
Has your phone number changed?
Has your address changed?
Have your emergency contact details changed?
If your child’s medical details have changed, please update these on PAM/SIMON. This is critical so that we can keep your child safe.
New Junior Playground
This week our new junior playground has been installed. The students are eagerly awaiting the removal of the temporary fencing so they can enjoy the new equipment. This will hopefully occur later this week once all works are completed and the final inspection is complete.
NCCD - Nationally Consistent Collection Data
Every year in August schools complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School
Students with Disability (NCCD). It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or ‘help” at school because of a diagnosed or imputed disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disabilities.
To count a student in the NCCD, schools must consider the following:
- Does the student require adjustments to be made so that they can access the curriculum on the same basis as their peers?
- Does the student have a disability according to the Disability Discrimination Act?
- Have the student’s parents or caregivers been consulted with regard to these adjustments?
- Is there clear evidence of the above to support the inclusion of the student in the NCCD?
For further information please contact Miss Brooke Farrelly or your child’s class teacher.

Religious Education - Term 3, Week 2
Dear Families,
We Can Make a Difference
This term at Trinity we are learning about Catholic Social Teaching. In week one of this term on our school closure day, the staff participated in some professional development focusing on how to create an environment of inquiry in Religious Education to ensure students are engaged and student voice is actively considered. Through this responsive learning environment that nurtures voice, students are empowered to talk and offer opinions as they grow in confidence in sharing their own voice around Catholic tradition.
As a school our focus for our Inquiry will be ‘We Can Make a Difference.’ You may notice displays in your child’s building with this very statement! As the students learn more about how they can make a difference and build connections with the Catholic faith, they will be sharing their learning on these adaptive displays. Keep an eye out for some exciting work coming soon!
As a school community we have already been 'Making a Difference' by making Grandparents Day cards for grandparents in our parish community. Together we made over 300 cards for our elderly parishoners to enjoy during the Grandparents celebration mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish. A true testament to the quote; "individually we are one drop, together we are an ocean." Please feel free to come along with your own grandparents this weekend at OLHC parish church to participate in the celebration.
NAIDOC Week
This week at Trinity we have celebrated NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. Around our school we have created some prayerful spaces to recognise and show our respect for Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander culture.
First Communion
Congratulations to all the Trinity students who have made their first communion over the last few weeks! For Catholics, receiving the Eucharist is the most powerful way we encounter the real presence of Jesus Christ. The students have been dutifully preparing and excitedly waiting for the opportunity to receive the Body of Christ for the very first time. It’s been wonderful to see the families coming together with the parish to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Sunday Children’s Liturgy
We warmly invite families to bring their children aged 5-12 to Children’s Liturgy at the 11am Sunday mass. Jesus tells us “Let the little children come to me’ (Matthew 19:14), through this ministry we hope to engage children in the Word of God in a child friendly way. Miss Rogers and Mr Dannaoui will be part of the roster, as well as other friendly volunteers from Our Lady of Help Christians Parish. Please contact the parish office or myself for further information.
Confirmation Workshops
A friendly reminder to families whose child is preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation that the Parent-Only Enrollment Night will be taking place on Thursday the 20th July and 26th July at 6:45pm for a 7pm start. We look forward to seeing you there for a night of fun and preparation.
Kind regards,
Emily Rogers

Trinity has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is therefore committed to complying with the Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises. All parents/guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.
Further details are available from the school office or the Justice Department website. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.
A reminder to all Parents/Carers, supervision by School Staff begins at 8.30am before school and after school only at the drop off area until 3.30pm.
ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
In the case of illness/absence please call the school office by 8.30am or login to PAM to send a notification no later than 9.00am on the day of absence.
An SMS will be sent (daily) to Parents after 9.30am for any unexplained student absences.
If no contact can be made or no absence is reported the school may phone emergency contacts to ensure student safety.
If you are going away on holidays you must advise in writing to the Principal BEFORE you leave.
Thank you.
Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
- Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
- THE GATES CLOSE AT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others
