2023 Term 4 Week 10
From the Principal - Term 4, Week 10
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of the 2023 school year, it is important that we take the time to reflect with our children on the year they have had. It is a time to remember the highlights and acknowledge the learning and growth that came from the challenges. It is a time to give thanks to God for the opportunities they have had, the friendships made and the successes they have experienced. It is a time to tell your children just how proud you are of them. Every child is unique in their own way, and I hope that over the coming weeks you can celebrate with your children what makes them special. I know I am extremely proud of each one of them for the way they turn up to school every day and always try their best. That’s all we can ever ask for.
On behalf of the staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the school community for their continued assistance and support throughout the year. I hope all families have a very happy, safe and holy Christmas and we look forward to working in partnership with you next year.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their tireless efforts throughout the year. We are very blessed to have such a highly professional, committed staff who always go over and above what is expected to provide the best possible opportunities they can to the students.
To our staff, students and families leaving our school community, our prayers and support go with you. Thank you for travelling with us. We pray that God will continue to bless your path and bring you much happiness. You have given much to our school. May you keep God in your lives, be wonderful to others, work hard, have fun, aim high and as you continue your journey with family and friends, we wish you the very best. Your time spent at Trinity has been valuable to us and we are a richer place because of you. Goodbye and Good luck.
Year 6 Graduation
Next Thursday night we will celebrate the wonderful learning journey of our year six cohort with a special Mass and Graduation Ceremony. It has been an honour to have walked beside these students over the past seven years. During this time, I have watched them grow, seen them achieve things they never thought possible and even overcome their fears. They will always be remembered at Trinity for the way they connected with each other, supported each other and lived out our school motto of Faith, Hope and Love. I thank them all for their contributions throughout their primary school years and wish them all the very best as they embark on the next exciting chapter in your lives.
To the graduating class of 2023, may you follow your dreams and always believe in yourself. Keep your eyes on the stars and hope in your heart. Good luck!

St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
This year we will once again partner up with St Vincent de Paul to create Christmas hampers for those in our community experiencing financial and emotional hardship. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and to reflect on just how lucky many of us are. The Social Justice Leaders have placed a tree in the atrium where non-perishable Christmas food items can be placed for the hamper, as well as small toys (new) that can be given as gifts. If you are able to donate to this worthy cause, your support would be greatly appreciated.
2024 Year 1-6 Orientation
Students in Years 1-6 in 2024 will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher/s and peers on Tuesday 12 December from 11.30- 1pm. Over the coming weeks the teachers will begin to transition the students to their new levels by using the 2024 classrooms to work from and eating morning tea or lunch in their new buildings. Classes have now been finalised, but teachers have not been allocated. This will be done in the in coming weeks. A lot of time, effort and thought goes into creating the classes each year. I ask that you start to discuss with your child how their new class will be a great opportunity to make new friends and meet a new teacher. Our children are very perceptive and pick up on how we behave and respond to situations. You can make a difference in how your child reacts to the news on the day by speaking positively about the change beforehand and by being excited for them when they come home with the news. Once the grades are finalised and announced on orientation day they can not be changed simply because your child wanted a particular student or teacher. I ask for your support in this matter and trust that your child’s 2023 teacher has made the best decision for your child going forward.

Physical Activity and Exercise Week 10
With the holidays fast approaching, it is a great time for children and their families to enjoy being active together. The article below explains many of the far reaching health benefits!
In the last decade, children’s participation in physical activity and exercise has been in decline. In this digital age, children are using computers and mobile devices, not only for learning, but for relaxation and recreation purposes. This sedentary lifestyle is having a detrimental effect on today’s youth. The key is finding the balance.
Research shows, that regular physical activity and exercise leads to changes in the brain. It improves cognitive function, elevates mood, enhances learning and improves academic outcomes. Playing sport helps kids develop fundamental movement skills impacting positively on their confidence, self-esteem and ability to develop social skills. Parents play an important role in helping children establish positive habits that will benefit their children in the long-term.
In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will discover practical advice relating to the benefits of regular physical activity and exercise, as well as tips on how to get their kids motivated and moving more.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.

Religious Education - Term 4, Week 10
Dear Families,
Parent Prayer Group
Last week at Trinity we held our last Parent Prayer Group for 2023 in our chapel. It was a beautiful opportunity to discuss the importance of prayer in family life and consider how we could engage in centring prayer as a family. Fr Brendan provide insight into phrases, images, elements of nature and songs that can be used to centre us in prayer, to truly be present in our conversation with God.
Some of our students also attended this prayer session, sharing prayers of gratitude. It was beautiful to see our students reflecting upon the many gifts, big and small, we have been given by God to achieve goodness in our lives. Fr Brendan led parents to reflect on how hearing these prayers from their children made them feel. What stirred in their hearts when they heard their children engaging in prayerful reflection? The families present shared their feelings of happiness and pride in the grace God had given them in guiding their children to become closer in relationship to Him.
We warmly invited all parents to consider the Parent Prayer Group in 2024.
St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal
Thank you so much to the Trinity community who have been donating toys and Christmas treats for our annual St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal! Your incredible generosity is greatly appreciated by the St Vincent De Paul OLHC parish ministry, as well as by the families who will receive support this Christmas.
As it says in Matthew 10:8; What you have received as a gift, give as a gift. God reminds us that we were created not just capable of being loved, but capable of showing great love to others. It is in the loving service of others in our community that we find meaning and happiness. Let us keep these families in our prayers this Christmas and reflect in gratitude for the generous hearts of others.

Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
- Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
- THE GATES CLOSE AT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others
