2024 Term 1 Week4
From the Principal - Term 1, Week 2
Dear Parents and Carers,
This morning was a busy morning for our Year 5 students as they left for camp. The students were super excited, and they are in for an amazing 3 days of adventure. School camps provide opportunities for our students to shine in ways that we don’t get to see in the classroom. They are an excellent opportunity for students to foster new friendships, develop their teamwork and negotiating skills and try new things. It enables them to step out of their comfort zone and develop resilience. During their time away, the students will engage in activities such as raft making, giant swing, circatron, bush cooking, initiative course and resort games. Camps however would not be possible without the commitment of the staff attending and those taking on the extra responsibilities back at school. I am extremely grateful for all that the staff at Trinity do for our students. Year 4 students will attend camp at the end of April and Year 6, end of November.
Thank You
Last week we acknowledged Ash Wednesday with a special liturgical celebration. Thank you to Fr Michael for celebrating Mass with our community and to all our families and parishioners who joined us on this special occasion. We loved having you all.
Thank you also to the wonderful parent helpers that cooked and served over 600 pancakes. It ran very smoothly! Days like this would not be possible without your amazing support.
Family Learning Conversations
Family Learning Conversations will be held onsite on Wednesday 28th February (3.30pm – 6.30pm) and Thursday 29th February (3.30pm – 8.00pm). These meetings are an important opportunity for the school to learn about your child from the people that know them best. YOU! It will be a chance for your child to share their learning goals and discuss what support they think they need. An email was sent home yesterday detailing the purpose of the meetings and how to sign up.
PSG Meetings will be held in the first week of March and meetings times will be released this Friday.
School Colour Run – Tuesday 27th February from 1.30pm
Next Thursday is our Colour Run! This was such a successful event last year that it is back again by popular demand. Last week permission forms were sent home with all the students. Please ensure your child’s form has been returned for them to participate in the event. Families are most welcome to attend to spectate from the soccer pitch or to volunteer to assist with the colour and water. The CFA will also be joining us on the day to provide sprinklers off the trucks to wet the children should they wish too. So far, we have raised just over $5000. Let’s see if we can increase this in the coming days in order to get our new playground earlier! It’s not to late to donate. This can be done by creating your own profile page or by donating through the office.
Parent Helper Online Workshop
At Trinity we value parent participation and support at special events and on excursions. For parents to volunteer it is a requirement that a Working with Children’s Check is valid and that the Trinity Parent Volunteer Induction is completed. This involves watching an online video that can be located on PAM under Parent Links. Once completed, please bring in your WWCC to the office and sign our Code of Conduct (if not already done).
Announcement of Year 6 School Leaders
Tomorrow we will hold a short assembly at 2.45pm in the School Hall to announce the Year 6 School Leaders for 2024. Families are most welcome to attend. Normal assembly will resume again next Thursday 29th February at 2.30pm for awards and birthdays.
School Photos
This year our photos will be taken by a new company, Leading Image School Photography. Online orders can now be made from now at www.leadingimage.com.au using the Access Key: TBYX9SU7. Please note, paper order forms will not be sent home as we have done in the past. Family photos must be ordered by 4.30pm on Tuesday 5th March. The office staff will send out another communication regarding photos in the coming weeks to remind families.
School Carnival – Sunday 17th March
Preparations for our exciting School Carnival are well under way so please save the date. This will be our major fundraiser for the year, and we are hoping to raise enough money to finally redevelop our school grounds.
We have already been blessed with some very kind donations for the carnival from local businesses and families within the school. Their names and logos are shared in this newsletter and will continue to be shared until next term. Please support their businesses should you require any of their services. It is not too late to donate. The more donations, no matter big or small, the more money we raise for our children.
Last week volunteer forms were also sent home. A carnival cannot run itself and we will be relying heavily on parent support on the day. If you can spare a few hours, please fill in the form and return it to the office by Friday 1st March. The more helpers we get, the more successful the day will be.
More information about how you can help in other ways will be sent home later this week.
The next carnival meeting is TOMORROW at 8.45am. All parents are welcome to attend.
NAPLAN Assessments
All Year 3 and 5 students will complete NAPLAN between the 13th of March and the 22nd of March. If any families in Year 3 or Year 5 have holidays booked during this time, please email Mrs Shelton (ged.shelton@trinitynarre.catholic.edu.au), so we can factor this into our planning. We use NAPLAN to provide us with feedback about how we can improve our teaching, whilst parents are provided with a snapshot of how their child is progressing. For us, it is one assessment that makes up a thorough Assessment Schedule and should not present any stress for students, as they are well versed at completing online assessments. If you have any concerns about your child participating in Naplan, please speak to your child’s teacher by Friday 1st March. More information will be sent home shortly with a timetable of when Trinity is scheduling the assessments.
2025 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
We have now begun the process of enrolling 2025 Foundation students. If you have a child coming in 2025, or know of someone else who does, please contact the office for further details. Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the Trinity School Website.

Religious Education - Term 1, Week 4
Dear Families,
Last Wednesday marked the beginning of Lent, a sacred period of reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth for millions around the world. As we embark on this journey of self-discovery and faith, let us open our hearts to the profound significance of this season.
Lent invites us to pause, to introspect, and to realign our lives with our deepest values. It is a time to cultivate mindfulness, gratitude, and compassion in our daily existence. Through prayer, fasting, and acts of charity, we seek not only to deepen our connection with the divine but also to extend a hand of kindness to those in need.
In the midst of life’s busyness, Lent offers a precious opportunity to slow down, to listen to the whispers of our souls, and to discern the path ahead. It is a time to confront our shortcomings, to seek forgiveness, and to embrace the promise of redemption.
As we journey through these forty days and nights, may we be guided by faith, strengthened by hope, and inspired by love. Let us support and uplift one another, knowing that we do not walk alone but are bound together in the tapestry of humanity.
May this Lenten season be a time of transformation and grace, a time to deepen our relationship with the divine and with one another. May it be a season of healing, forgiveness, and renewal, leading us ever closer to the light that shines within us all.
Wishing you a blessed Lent filled with peace, joy, and abundant blessings.

Visual Art-Term 1,Week 4
WHAT IS THE VISUAL ARTS AT TRINITY
The Visual Arts program at Trinity Primary School offers students a wide range of skills, techniques and processes and focuses on the artistic elements of art. The elements are taught through the media also includes the study of art in history and its place in world cultures. Through their work students are encouraged to explore real, imaginary, and abstract ideas as well as cultural and historical issues.
These are often linked to the integrated units currently being studied in their classrooms. This helps to enhance the unit of work and to draw upon the meaningful experiences and observations of each student. All students will have the opportunity to participate in a one-hour lesson each week. Student’s artworks are often displayed in classrooms around the school, in our community and on Artsonia.
Artsonia is the world’s largest online student art museum. and showcases artwork from thousands of schools around the world.
Students work is uploaded to Artsonia (an online international gallery). Trinity’s gallery has over 27,000 piece of artwork in its Gallery .
You will receive an email asking for permission for your child to be part of the Trinity Art community, I ask that you give permission through this email.
Its goals are to develop students’ pride and self-esteem, increase their multicultural understanding through art and involve parents and relatives in students’ education and accomplishments. Your child or I upload their child’s artwork onto the website.
Artsonia is a unique, safe, and educational opportunity for the students. You or others in your family can comment on your child’s artwork:
One of the most exciting features about being published on Artsonia’s Art Museum is that friends and family from anywhere in the world can leave a nice comment for the artist and become a fan club member of the artist.
If you wish to have a look at what Trinity’s Artsonia website looks like, here is the link

Trinity participates in the promotion of Literacy and Art links. Last year we had a student win the Balnaves Foundation Literary Award for Poetry from entries all around Australia, we also had other winners in this national competition in both the Arts category and the Literacy category. Students are able to upload both their artwork and any poems or stories they may have written. Competition closes on the 30th of September.
At Trinity we have had many winners in this competition both in the Visual Arts section but also in the Literacy section.
Oz Kids was initiated in the early 90's by The Australian Children's Literary Board, a Not-For-Profit Organisation primarily focused on the literary needs of our young children.
Oz Kids is a magazine which we distribute on a national basis and publish online through this website. Its purpose is to promote and support children's literary and artistic talents and to provide a vehicle for children to appreciate and develop their skills and encourage them to continue in the arts, especially when they see their work published.

Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
- Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
- THE GATES CLOSE AT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others
