2024 Term 1 Week 8
From the Principal - Term 1, Week 8
Dear Parents and Carers,
WOW!! What a fantastic day we had on Sunday for our school carnival. Everything about the day was absolutely perfect and from all accounts, it was an extremely memorable day. It was inspiring to see the school and wider community come together to celebrate and support the students at Trinity. It was a heartwarming day and simply seeing the smiles on the faces of the students (staff and parents) made it all worthwhile. I honestly could not be any prouder than I am of our school community right now. It is both an honour and privilege to be a part of such an amazing, inclusive community. Thank you to everyone that came along and supported the day. Thank you to all our listed sponsors (below) and thank you to all the families that supported the day whether it was through donations of goods and services or by simply helping out. Thank you also to the staff at Trinity who came along to support the day. Without everyone’s generosity and enthusiasm, this day would not have been possible.
The biggest thank you though must go to the amazing Carnival Committee. Although this was only a small committee, their heart, commitment and willingness to ensure that the school community would have the “best carnival ever” (as described by one of our Foundation students) was amazing. Thank you to Luisa, Jess, Sophy, Michael, Kerryn, Jacinta and Sam for your outstanding efforts, patience, resilience and determination. Without you all, there would not have been a carnival. Thank you for giving up your valuable time to attend many meetings over many months. Thank you also for your generous donations of goods and services. This day will be something long remembered after the students have left Trinity and that is because of you all.

Official Opening of our Library and Art room
Today we gathered as a school community to celebrate the Official Opening and Blessing of our new library and art room. Thank you to all those who came along to join with us on this special day and to Fr Michael and Mr Paul Velten (Director of DOSCEL) for their ongoing support and commitment to the students at Trinity. We are blessed at Trinity with spacious, purpose-built learning communities that provide rich learning opportunities for all our students to thrive. Trinity is a wonderful place to learn and grow!

Harmony Day – Tomorrow Thursday 2st March
Harmony Day is celebrated in Australia on Thursday 21st March. It is a day where communities all around Australia come together as a nation to celebrate our cultural diversity. It is a special day that focuses on inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
At Trinity, we are very fortunate to have families from all over the world, sharing their unique customs and traditions with the school community. To celebrate Trinity’s unique diversity, we will be holding our own Harmony Day tomorrow. This day will recognise and celebrate the cultural differences and similarities that exist within our school community. On this day, we warmly invite the students to wear clothes and accessories that highlight the country of their family’s heritage or the colour orange, as it relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
Throughout the day the students will participate in a range of activities that highlight what makes them unique and different, yet all the same. The day will end with a whole school assembly at 2.30pm. Families are warmly invited to attend the assembly.
School Advisory Board
The School Advisory Board meets five times a year to discuss and review events, polices and practices within the school. This year we are seeking the support of a parish representative. If you are an active parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians and are interested in being part of the School Advisory Board, please send through your expression of interest to principal@trinitynarre.catholic.edu.au. Your role would be to liaise with the parish and feed back to the board the events and opportunities within the parish. Expressions of interest will close on Thursday 28th March.
Athletics Carnival – This Friday 22nd March
This Friday we will hold our annual athletics carnival at Casey Fields. The students are very excited, and I am confident it will be another successful school event. Thank you to Mrs Woolf and Mrs Cahill for their preparation for the day and to all the parent volunteers. Families are warmly invited to come along to support their children on the day. We just ask that all spectators cheer and support from around the outside of the track. Parents will not be permitted in the grandstands. This area is for students and staff only.
Playgrounds after school
After school we have noticed an increase in the number of children playing on the playgrounds. It is lovely to see families getting to know each other, however all children MUST be supervised by their own parent (not a friend) during this time. This is for the safety of all concerned. We are seeking your support with this, otherwise we will sadly need to close the playgrounds again after school to ensure everyone’s safety. The only playground that is to be used is the Middle/Senior Playground until the bell goes. Thank you for your support.
2025 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
We have now begun the process of enrolling 2025 Foundation students. If you have a child coming in 2025, or know of someone else who does, please contact the office for further details. Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the Trinity School Website.

Harmony Day Tomorrow
Cultural Diversity Week is celebrated Australia-wide from March 15th to 21st. It is about inclusivity, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Harmony Day ends the week, when communities celebrate a sense of belonging for all.
Trinity will be celebrating Harmony Day: Cultural Diversity Week tomorrow, Thursday 21 March. We will also be haing a special Harmony Day Assembly.
The students are intivted to wear clothes and accessories that highlight the country of their family’s heritage or to wear a splash of orange as a symbol of unity and harmony.
Why orange?
Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Australians can choose to wear something orange during Harmony Week to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
Religious Education - Term 1, Week 8
Dear Families,
Foundation Mass
We are thrilled to share with you a heart-warming milestone in the journey of our foundation students at Trinity. Last week, our youngest learners had the incredible opportunity to participate in their first Catholic Mass in our Trinity Chapel.
It was a moment filled with reverence, curiosity, and joy as our students stepped into the sacred space of worship. For many of our students, this was their very first encounter with the Mass. They listened intently as the prayers were recited, watched in awe as the candles flickered, and participated eagerly in the hymns, with matching actions that brought joy to all present.
As educators, witnessing the awe and wonder on the faces of our students was a poignant reminder of the importance of providing opportunities for spiritual growth and exploration. We believe that nurturing the spiritual development of our students is just as vital as fostering their academic skills, and events like this Mass play a crucial role in achieving that goal.
We extend our gratitude to our parish priest, Fr Michael, for leading this meaningful service and for his unwavering commitment to guiding our students on their spiritual journey. We also thank our foundation parents for taking the time to attend this memorable experience for our students.
As we continue to support and nurture the holistic development of our students, we look forward to many more enriching experiences that will shape their lives and deepen their understanding of faith, community, and the world around them.
Supporting St Vincent De Paul - Bringing Hope Through Generosity
In the spirit of kindness and compassion, our students are embarking on an ongoing mission to support those in need. Throughout the year, during their Level Mass, our children will have the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of others by bringing food donations to support St. Vincent De Paul.
St. Vincent De Paul has long been a beacon of light for individuals and families facing hardship. Through their dedicated efforts, they provide essential support, including food assistance, to those struggling to make ends meet. By contributing food donations, our children are not only filling stomachs but also filling hearts with hope and love.
Let's continue to encourage and support our students as they lead the charge towards a brighter, more compassionate future. Together, we can make a difference—one act of kindness at a time. Growing together in faith, hope and love.
Celebrating Reconciliation: A Time of Renewal and Reflection
As we embark on this journey through the Lenten season, our hearts are filled with anticipation and reverence for the sacrament of Reconciliation. This sacred time offers us the opportunity to reflect, repent, and seek forgiveness as we prepare to renew our connection with God and one another.
For our grade three students, this is a particularly special time as they prepare to celebrate their Reconciliation in the Catholic Church. It's a moment of spiritual growth and introspection as they reflect on their actions, seek forgiveness for any wrongdoing, and strive to mend relationships with both God and their community.
We wish all our students the best of luck in their upcoming celebrations!
Celebration Dates
Wednesday 20th March - 7pm
Wednesday 17th April - 7pm
Saturday 20th April - 11am
Saturday 27th April - 11am
Upcoming - First Eucharist
First Eucharist, also known as First Holy Communion, is a special sacrament in the Catholic Church where children receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the first time. It is a deeply meaningful event, symbolising a union with Christ and a commitment to living a life of faith.
Please note that children should be baptised in the Catholic Church and should have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation, last year or prior, before enrolling in the Sacrament of First Eucharist.
We encourage you to mark these dates on your calendars and actively participate in the preparation process alongside your child. Your involvement and support are invaluable as they embark on this journey of faith;

Safety Audit
In Week 6 of each term, our students complete a Safety Audit. This is an opportunity for all students to nominate anything that is making them feel unsafe. This may include things which are worrying them either at school, or outside of school. This audit provides us with important information about the wellbeing of our students. As we know, if students are not feeling safe, comfortable and happy, they won’t learn to the best of their ability.
Students were also given the opportunity to nominate two adults at school with whom they are comfortable talking about any issues. We can then use these nominated adults to check-in with the students when addressing their concerns. Through many of our other safety programs and initiatives such as Day for Daniel, students learn about the importance of having five adults in their lives who they can talk to about their safety. These are known as their safety helpers.
Pleasingly, the data from this term’s Safety Audit is very positive. Over 95% of our students have said that they feel safe coming to school each day. Students who identified anything that is worrying them or making them feel unsafe, will be followed up by their classroom teacher and nominated safe adults.

FRIDAY 22ND MARCH - TRINITY ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
CASEY FIELDS REGIONAL ATHLETICS CENTRE
This Friday 22nd March, all of the students will be participating in our Trinity Athletics Carnival. The students are very excited and have been continuing to practise some of their events this week. Can you please ensure that your child/children come to school dressed in their Trinity PE uniform, including sneakers. They are encouraged to wear a t-shirt in their house colour (red, blue, gold or green). It is advisable that they bring their school jacket/jumper and track pants to wear in between their events as Casey Fields can be quite cold and windy in the early morning. Your child/children will need to bring their Trinity hat, sunscreen and their school bag with their drink, snacks and lunch. Spectators are most welcome to attend and support the students. We kindly request that all spectators must remain behind the fence and are not permitted in the grandstand area or on the athletics track. Please do not bring any food or drink for your child/children. It must be prepacked in their school bag. Please see below the event schedule.
Kind regards,
Mrs Dianna Woolf and Mrs Nicole Cahill (PE Teachers)

Trinity has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is therefore committed to complying with the Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises. All parents/guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.
Further details are available from the school office or the Justice Department website. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.

Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
- Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
- THE GATES CLOSE AT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others
