2024 Term 3 Week 6
From The Principal Term 3 Week 6
Some of your children may have noticed some additional sculptures in the garden outside the Allen Building last week. For your reference, they are pictured below. The pillars are reminders of our School Wide Expectations-
With faith, hope and love, we use our actions to be:
- Resilient
- Respectful
- Responsible
- Safe
At Trinity, we believe that whole school approaches to positive behaviour supports our teaching and learning environments to maximise academic and social-emotional outcomes for all. These expectations are known across all levels of the school and provide teachers with valuable ways to help students assess and frame-up the way they relate to others and the way they should expect others to treat them.
Another new addition to our garden has been a welcome sing with a Kookaburra atop, near the entrance to the Chapel/Multipurpose Room. Whenever anyone enters the Trinity gates it is hoped that they experience a genuine sense of welcome and inclusion. It is only by doing this that we are truly living the Scripture message from which our motto is drawn:
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Book Week Celebrations
Today we have celebrated Book Week with both students and teachers getting into the spirit of the day. Hogwarts, Minions and Spiderman were all well represented! We were also treated to a play by the Grade 5 students who showcased their learning in Performing Arts. Thank you for the creativity and planning that you all put into making these days such memorable experiences for our students.
Dr Billy Garvey- Building Resilient Children
Save the date: Dr Billy Garvey will be at Trinity on the evening of the 11th of September, speaking about BUILDING RESILIENT KIDS.
More details will follow in the coming weeks.
Staffing Updates
Taryn Mumford’s last day with us will be next Friday the 30th of August. We thank Taryn for her years of dedicated service and wish her good luck in her new position at St Josephine Bakhita’s.
Father’s Day Breakfasts and Stall
On Tuesday 27 August, we are having our Father’s Day stall. CDF Pay is currently open for your children to finalise payments. This needs to be done by Monday 26 at 3pm.
Invitations have gone home to the Father’s Day breakfasts. Please fill in this blue form and return it to the office as soon as possible to help with catering requirements. This form also asks for volunteers to assist with serving on one of the mornings.
Thank you in advance to those who can give some time to support these events.
School Disco- Friday 6 September
The Fundraising Committee have organised an exciting disco night for all the students to participate in, should they wish to attend. The disco will be split into a Junior (F-2) disco from 4.30-6pm and a Middle/Senior Disco from 6.30 – 8pm. Please see the flyer below for more details. All money raised will go towards the redevelopment of the area outside the art room. A huge thank you to one of our supportive parents Francisco (Mason’s Dad in Grade 6) for his willingness to give up his time to DJ the event - "Beats by Francisco".
There is a cost of $8 payable via CDF Pay. This is open for your purchase and will be closed at 3:15 in the 6 September. There will be no cash or EFTPOS on the night, so only those who have prepaid though CDF will be admitted.
To help this event be successful, we will need parent volunteers for each of the sessions. To be able to do this, you must have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and have completed the online induction. Please contact the office if you are available to assist.
Thank you to our sponsors:
Health and Safety- Students
For health and safety reasons, students who have hair which is below their shoulders must have it tied back. Also, earrings need be plain studs or sleepers. Thank you for your support on this.
2025 Planning
We are now halfway through Term 3 and have begun planning for 2025.
If parents have a genuine reason for class placement requests for next year, could you please put them in writing addressed to me by Friday 13th September.
An enormous amount of time and effort is put into the creation of class lists and many factors are taken into consideration. A written request will be considered on its merits, but it is not a guarantee. At Trinity we work on a whole school approach and are blessed to have a committed teaching staff who collaborate to give the very best learning opportunities to all students in our care. With this in mind, I ask that you please do not request a certain teacher for your child or for their friends. Students will have the opportunity to identify several of their peers who they work well with and relate too. Please be aware that a request must be made for the current year, we will not be referring to requests made 12 months ago as circumstances change.
Families Who are Leaving the School
If for any reason you are aware that your child will not be returning to Trinity in 2025, we would ask that you inform the school. This will assist us to forward plan and inform other families who are currently on a waiting list.
School Safety-Drop Off and Pick Up Times
Please ensure that you do not park in front of the school gates while they are shut, as this blocks the traffic trying to come down Oak Grove Drive. We also ask for your support in ensuring the safety of our students in the car park. This means dropping your children in the 2 bays near the undercover area, where there is a staff member on duty. It also means being patient and courteous with other members of our community during these times.

Child Safety Week
National Child Protection Week begins on the first Sunday in September. Its goal is to ensure that every child, in every community, has a safe and supported life both now and in the future.
The theme for 2024 is "Every Conversation Matters." Conversations are crucial tools for safeguarding young people, helping us understand their challenges and emotions. Through open dialogue, we can work together to find solutions.
This National Child Protection Week, we encourage you to engage in meaningful discussions about how we can ensure every child in every community receives the opportunities they deserve.
During Child Safety Week, students will be participating in Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson and learning about First Aid from St John Ambulance Service.
Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson is conducted annually through the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. It is a video presentation which will be livestreamed on Tuesday 3rd September. Students from all around Australia learn about the importance of safety. Through this age appropriate lesson, students will learn about what it means to be safe, how to identify unsafe situations and what they can do if they find themselves in an unsafe situation.
We are also lucky to have St John Ambulance Service coming on Monday 2nd September to facilitate an age appropriate First Aid Program with each class. Through basic first aid training, students will be learning vital first aid skills.

CHILD SAFE STANDARDS WORKING WITH CHILDREN
Trinity has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is therefore committed to complying with the Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises. All parents/guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.
Further details are available from the school office or the Justice Department website. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.
A reminder to all Parents/Carers, supervision by School Staff begins at 8.30am before school and after school only at the drop off area until 3.30pm.
Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
- Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
- THE GATES CLOSE AT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others
