From the Principal
This week is Child Safety Week.
The overarching theme is: Every child, in every community, needs a fair go with a focus on, Every conversation matters.
This theme provides a platform to engage in important conversations, promote the value of conversations, and equip us to have conversations that keep kids safe.
At Trinity, we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of our children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of Catholic education. This commitment is drawn from, and inherent to, the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ. At the heart of the Gospels is love, justice and the sanctity of each human person and it is this which underpins the decisions and directions of our school.
By the end of this week, the students will have had the opportunity to learn about safety in many areas of their life. All classes participated in a session with St John’s Ambulance to learn age appropriate First Aid. Australia’s Biggest Safety Lesson was broadcast yesterday, and all levels were able to tune in and partake in the wonderful learning provided through the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
The eSafety Commissioner Website also has resources that help teachers and students promote safety whilst online. Students learn about things such as: safe and unsafe behaviours, 'unsafe secrets', ‘help-seeking’, inappropriate questions and requests.
Thursday 12th September- School Closure Day
Next Thursday is a School Closure Day for all staff. As this is a school closure day, and no staff will be on site.
Father’s Day Breakfasts
We were delighted to have had 530 guests join us for breakfast over the 2 mornings to celebrate the important roles that fathers and father figures play in the lives of our students. The staff did a wonderful job of hosting the hungry crowds on both mornings and I would like to express my thanks to them for their planning and assistance. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped throughout the week.
Staffing Updates
Ms Ellie Foggarty and Ms Brooke Farrelly have accepted new positions at St Josephine Bakhita’s, commencing in the 2025 school year. We look forward to spending the rest of 2024 with them as part of our community and wish them all the best for next year.
For health and family reasons, Ange Schinck has decided that 2024 will be her last year at Trinity. I am sure you will join me in wishing Ange all the best and we all look forward to hearing her plans for the future.
School Disco- This Friday 6 September
This Friday 6 September, the Fundraising Committee have organised an exciting disco night for all the students to participate in, should they wish to attend. The disco will be split into a Junior (F-2) disco from 4.30-6pm and a Middle/Senior Disco from 6.30 – 8pm. Please see the flyer below for more details. All money raised will go towards the redevelopment of the area outside the art room. A huge thank you to one of our supportive parents Francisco (Mason’s Dad in Grade 6) for his willingness to give up his time to DJ the event - "Beats by Francisco".
There is a cost of $8 payable via CDF Pay. This is open for your purchase and will be closed at 3:15 in the 6 September. There will be no cash or EFTPOS on the night, so only those who have prepaid though CDF will be admitted.
To help this event be successful, we will need parent volunteers for each of the sessions. To be able to do this, you must have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and have completed the online induction. Please contact the office if you are available to assist.
Thank you to our sponsors:
2025 Planning
We are now halfway through Term 3 and have begun planning for 2025.
If parents have a genuine reason for class placement requests for next year, could you please put them in writing addressed to me by Friday 13th September.
An enormous amount of time and effort is put into the creation of class lists and many factors are taken into consideration. A written request will be considered on its merits, but it is not a guarantee. At Trinity we work on a whole school approach and are blessed to have a committed teaching staff who collaborate to give the very best learning opportunities to all students in our care. With this in mind, I ask that you please do not request a certain teacher for your child or for their friends. Students will have the opportunity to identify several of their peers who they work well with and relate too. Please be aware that a request must be made for the current year, we will not be referring to requests made 12 months ago as circumstances change.
Families Who are Leaving the School
If for any reason you are aware that your child will not be returning to Trinity in 2025, we would ask that you inform the school. This will assist us to forward plan and inform other families who are currently on a waiting list.

Religious Education - Week 8, Term 3
Dear Families,
Congratulations - Sacrament of Confirmation
This past weekend students from all three of our parish schools celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady Help of Christian Parish. It was wonderful to be joined by families, friends and Bishop Greg Bennet to celebrate as a faith community.
Inquiry in Religious Education - Level 1
1A
During Religion in 1A we have been working on making Trinity a safer place! Miss Rogers asked us to consider the following question "If Not Me, Then Who?". We began looking at the school community, and thinking of how we can make a difference. We know that sometimes children all over Trinity can get anxious on Monday morning, so our class action was to start a "Monday Club". This will help children feel safe and included, and allow them to start their week off in a positive manner. The Monday Club operates on a Monday at recess, we will do things like colouring, gardening and dancing.
1B
In 1B our class action is a Toy Drive. We will encourage Trinity students to donate old toys to children that aren’t as fortunate as we are.
1C
In 1C our class action is to care for animals. This will help all animals who are a special part of God’s creation. We will encourage Trinity students and our families to care for animals and not hurt them.
Kind regards,
Emily Rogers

Child Safety Week
National Child Protection Week begins on the first Sunday in September. Its goal is to ensure that every child, in every community, has a safe and supported life both now and in the future.
The theme for 2024 is "Every Conversation Matters." Conversations are crucial tools for safeguarding young people, helping us understand their challenges and emotions. Through open dialogue, we can work together to find solutions.
This National Child Protection Week, we encourage you to engage in meaningful discussions about how we can ensure every child in every community receives the opportunities they deserve.
During Child Safety Week, students will be participating in Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson and learning about First Aid from St John Ambulance Service.
Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson is conducted annually through the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. It is a video presentation which will be livestreamed on Tuesday 3rd September. Students from all around Australia learn about the importance of safety. Through this age appropriate lesson, students will learn about what it means to be safe, how to identify unsafe situations and what they can do if they find themselves in an unsafe situation.
We are also lucky to have St John Ambulance Service coming on Monday 2nd September to facilitate an age appropriate First Aid Program with each class. Through basic first aid training, students will be learning vital first aid skills.

CHILD SAFE STANDARDS WORKING WITH CHILDREN
Trinity has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is therefore committed to complying with the Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises. All parents/guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.
Further details are available from the school office or the Justice Department website. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.
A reminder to all Parents/Carers, supervision by School Staff begins at 8.30am before school and after school only at the drop off area until 3.30pm.
Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
- Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
- THE GATES CLOSE AT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is for STAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others
