Students from Foundation – Year 6 engage in the Sale Diocese Curriculum ‘To Live in Christ Jesus’. 

This is a progression of learning in Religious Education, based around four strands (Triune God, The Life and Mission of Jesus, Sacramental Church and Christian Life and Catholic Social Teaching Strand) and four lenses (Scripture, Tradition, Christain Prayer and Liturgy Lens and Religion and Society Lens).

Former Bishop Patrick O’Regan supported our curriculum and aims of religious education stating: 

"From the very first moment a person enters one of our Parish Schools, we want them to encounter the person, story and message of Jesus Christ. It is through this encounter that a fullness of life is gifted to our School communities and to the individuals that form these communities. We want people in our Schools to encounter an authentic Christian message through their lived experience of the school. In this encounter, and through the formal Religious Education programs offered in our Schools, School community members are called to witness and contribute to God’s plan of salvation."

The curriculum draws from Scripture and the Catholic tradition of the Universal Church. The aim is to recontextualise Scripture, to ensure that students understand how it is relevant today. Our Catholic School is richer through dialogue and recognising different cultures within our school, creating a rich discussion about the world. It fosters an understanding of young people as they grow and mature in contemporary society.

Prayer

Students are engaged in a range of both formal and  informal  prayer experiences as they seek to deepen their relationship with God. All classes begin the day with morning prayer, which the students are encouraged to lead.

Social Justice

A key component of our learning is about Catholic Social Teaching. CST provides the ‘why’ we are called to support those in our community less fortunate. We are committed to promoting socially just behaviours and outreach, and we undertake a range of student driven initiatives each term. Social Justice Leaders and the SRC organise fundraisers and guest speakers and actively advocate on issues relating to social justice. 

School Liturgies

Celebrating our faith through liturgy is an important component of school life at Trinity.  These Masses bring life to the school through music, prayer and tradition. Each class celebrates Mass once a term at 9.00am in the Trinity Chapel. Parents and families are invited to share in this celebration.  Students in Years 3-6 celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the year.  There are many Feast days that we recognise through Prayer Service, with Catholic Education Week and Reconciliation Week to key priorities. We celebrate Easter and Christmas as a school community and parents and families are welcome to join with us in these celebrations.

Sacraments

The Sacramental Program is Family centered, Parish Based, School and Catechist Supported.  We believe these moments are important family events, therefore the opportunities are focused on the parent and child having the opportunity to explore faith together.
